Hatten Hotel Melaka is currently looking to recruit the following positions:

Chief Concierge
To provide courteous and efficient service when trying to comply with each and every guest request promptly and tactfully. Provide responsive and attentive service with relaxed efficiency by meeting and exceeding all guests requests
All guests must be attended to without any preference or favoritism or any discrimination.
Smile and greet all guests preferably, by using their name and project the Malaysian image by following the Malaysian way of salutation
To keep an update on the VIP’s arriving, functions held and happening in the hotel for the day.
To receive instructions and updates from the FOM and/or DOR on relevant hotel matters.
To handle all matters related to delivery of guest’s luggage & parcels, safe keeping of guests mails, transportation, parking and etc. and investigate any guest complaints if necessary.
To be present at the scene whenever possible, take immediate remedial / supporting action and to inform the FOM / DOR / GM whenever necessary, in case of an emergency such as death, accident, fire and bomb threat.
To be thoroughly familiar with Hotel policies, procedures and practices especially related to reservations, room assignment, baggage handling, housekeeping methods, restaurant and room charges on guest bills, credit and security.
To make periodic public area inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained.
To report to the Engineering Department of any defects immediately.
To ensure that the lobby and entrance are kept clean at all times and the main entrance is free of any obstruction.
To direct Security Officer / Personnel whenever circumstances demand such action.
To brief the Assistant Manager on issues that need be followed-up. Carry out proper hand over.
To ensure that all events at the function rooms for the day are displayed accurately on the LCD monitors
Ensure that guest relations are maintained at the highest standard and to meet at least 5 guests during your shift for feedback on their requirements.
Manages, supervises and co-ordinates work of a Bell Supervisor, Bell Captain, Bellman, Doorman and Driver.
Stand – In at the counter as and when required in the event of short handed.
Liaise closely with Reception, Reservations, Sales and other related departments to ensure the guest arrivals and departure are handled courteously and efficiently.
Promote and sell the services offered by the hotel (restaurants, transportation, rooms and etc) to increase the revenue.
Plan and schedule the Concierge team according to forecasted business patterns including groups.
Develop employee skills required to perform their duties according to hotel policies and procedures.
Ensure that all Front Office staffs are updated and aware of the daily hotel activities and events, VIPs and etc. by conducting shift briefing.
Create awareness on places of interest, cities eatery, night spots, events and happening in Melak for staff to suggest, recommend and to create conversation with guests.
Maintain a good working relationship with those companies providing services available through the Hotel e.g. taxis, car rentals agencies, airlines, limousine providers, theaters, hotels and etc.
Makes periodical checks on staff work, attendance, time keeping, grooming and standards.
To have on hand all information of the city. This information should come with Name, Address, Contacts and other useful information.
Ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotels’ policies and procedures relating to fire, safety, health and hygiene.
Make an inventory of the luggage store and check all items periodically to ensure all items are tagged and not left untagged.
Do not keep any irrelevant brochures, old magazines / news papers, food & drinks in the luggage room. It should be always kept in a clean, tidy, odourless and insect free environment
Ensure that the Departmental Operational Budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled.
Ensures the traffic is in control at all times and to work closely with Security in managing them.
Be present during heavy function period and manage the crowd at lobby and drive way.
To be familiar with some local and international protocols in welcoming Royalties, Ministers and etc.
To be well versed with the hotel’s property management system, Opera.
He must be well informed of the local, city and country places of interest, shopping arcades, religious services, transportation, etc.
To be able to handle all major complains and to record all suggestions and comments by the guests and reports these incidents to the Assistant Manager or Front Office Manager.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Front Office Manager / Director of Rooms.
