Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur is currently looking to recruit the following positions:

Japanese Speaking, Guest Relation Officer

SPM certificate holder or Diploma holder, majoring in Tourism Management or Hospitality Management.
Proficiency in Japanese language and excellent communications skill, both in written and verbal forms.
Must be able to work under pressure.
Must be a self-starter, result-oriented and also a team player.
Must have a pleasant personality with good organisational skills.
Must be independent and self-motivated with good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work on a shift basis.
Must have at least 1 year of working experience in the related field.

Deliver the basic standards and provide exceptional guest service at all times.
Greet all guests in a service orientated manner.
Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
Personally and frequently verify that all guests are receiving the best possible service during check-in and check-out.
Register guests in accordance with Front Office policies and procedures.
Understand the rate structure and promotional rates available.
Be familiar with the hotel’s products and services and policies.
Ensure all complaints and requests are immediately resolved and follow through with relevant supporting departments.
Prepare welcome cards and keys for arrival guests.
Share and brief all Front Office personnel of guest needs / requests during shift briefings.
Act as a representative on behalf of the Hotel Management in attending to guest requests or public’s complaints
To be thoroughly conversant with the Front Office computer system.
Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Executive Chef
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar position and operation, with a thorough knowledge of kitchen operation in a 5-star Hotel.
Solid knowledge of culinary skills, and experience in all facets of kitchen operations.
Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
Excellent computer skills and usage of Microsoft applications.
Must possess the leadership skills necessary to train, organize, and motivate a large team.
Must show the positive characteristics and attributes for guest interaction.

Manage, organize and ensure the smooth running of all kitchens throughout the Hotel.
Maintain accurate recipes and costing for all dishes and buffets.
Monitor associates’ performances and assist in conducting performance appraisal.
Maintain the overall food cost and other kitchen expenses within given guidelines by controlling purchases and maintaining adequate stock levels and orders.
Ensure all reports are submitted within the deadlines given, including work schedules, implementations, training plans, reports and other form of documents.
Professionally active and self-involved in every aspect of the kitchen operations. Supervises, directs, guides and corrects the entire kitchen associates.
Takes a professional self-interest in constantly maintaining a high standard of food preparation by checking food for taste, temperature and visual presentation.
Ensures that prescribed food preparations and service procedures are carried out in detail and corrects any deviation through constant on-the-job training.
Makes suggestions to the General Manager concerning improvements, which would lead to achieve more guest satisfaction and/or increase the volume of business or profit.
Inspects the daily receipt of fresh market items and rejects items when necessary.
Monitors and ensures food spoilage reports are filled out at all times, within all outlets.
Carries out constant spot checks in all refrigerators and freezers for cleanliness, tidiness, proper storage and freshness of the food products to prevent spoilage and contamination.
Checks the maintenance of all kitchen equipment and cleanliness of kitchen areas and attempt to prevent any damage, breakage or loss by enforcing policies and procedures.
Responsible for the presentation and maintenance of buffet decorations in all outlets, using creative flair within the parameters of the Hotel’s ethos.
Works the hours to guarantee the running of a professional operation at a sound level of guest satisfaction at all times.
Stays updated with the developments of food trends worldwide and makes appropriate suggestions to the General Manager.
Be fully conversant with all health, hygiene, safety, fire and emergency procedures.
Ensure that all associates are aware of hotel regulations and are reminded accordingly.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the management.
