BATU BATU, is an award-winning private island resort located in the Marine Park of Johor. The resort is privately-owned and has 22-villas. The island boasts ten pristine white sandy beaches and the is situated twenty minutes boat ride from Mersing, Johor, Malaysia (140km north of Singapore).

Batu Batu is sustainably-minded and has a focus on generating profits through tourism to create a positive impact on the surrounding environment and community. We are passionate about creating a sustainable resort model which can be replicated throughout Malaysia and beyond.

The resort employs 90 employees (most of whom reside on the island) and welcomes a clientele of international travellers from Europe, Australasia and North America. Batu Batu is open year-round and does not close during the rainy season.

Below are the list of vacancies available from Batu Batu Resort this month 2020.

Batu Batu Resort is currently looking to recruit the following positions:

Chief Engineer
Operational
Supervises the overall maintenance function of the property, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards of operation.
Implementing and auditing comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Programmes for all equipments and other assets both on land and sea in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
Carries out and supervises the regular Guestroom Servicing Programme according to the established schedule.
Supervise all maintenance activities to ensure the ‘Primary Plant’ provides continuous and consistent utilities required for operations.
Ensures the control, verification, storage and utilisation of all fuel deliveries to the premises are carried out as per the established policy and procedures.
Assists in preparing weekly work schedules in accordance with workload and priorities in coordination with Engineering Team Leader.
Performs routine inspection of Engineering areas ensuring proper functioning of equipment, cleanliness and high housekeeping standards.
Coordinates and supervise special projects, overseeing the employment of outside contractors.
Ensures all maintenance requests being completed on time and paying particular attention to guest related jobs.
Participates and contributes in discussion related to modifications of equipment when required.
Ensures the engineering store and keeps close control on consumption of material and inventory.
Coordinate and makes orders for spare parts while maintaining par stock for emergency requirements.
Monitors closely and controls all utility consumption ensuring optimum energy usage by all departments of hotel.
Monitor energy efficiency of all equipment; makes recommendations and advise for energy saving to reduce wastage.
Maintains a comprehensive library of manuals and spare parts list of all operational equipment.
Personally supervises all hazardous work and ensures all safety regulations are being strictly observed by all employees.
Arranges engineering assistance for all special request from other operation departments as per approved function request sheets.
Assists in the planing of yearly maintenance of plant room machinery and equipment.
Follows up on purchasing requirements with Materials department.
Ensures all Engineering employees adhere to the cleanliness of all work area, protecting the surroundings when executing jobs.
Administration
Assists with the development and maintenance of a detailed Department Operations Manual that reflects policies & procedures, work processes and standards of performance within the Division. Ensures annual review to accurately reflect any changes.
Assists with the preparation of the annual Engineering Division Business Plan ensuring Divisional Objectives fully address business objectives of the hotel and needs of employees.
Assists with the preparation and regular update of the Engineering Departmental Budget, ensuring targets are met and costs are effectively controlled.

Requirement
Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Marine), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
At least 5 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Required Skill(s): Generator Management, Sea Water Distillation (SWRO), Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP)
Preferably Manager specialized in Engineering with minimum 4 years work experience as Duty Engineer/ Senior Supervisor of General Maintenance in a hotel or in a similar large building/complex with central plant.
Preferable prerequisite is experience in the Hotel industry.

Human Resource Manager
JOB DUTIES:
To ensure HR day-to-day operations are carried out effectively all time.
To provide advisory and consultation to management and staff on HR arising matters as and when the need arises within the agreed time period
To ensure the recruitment exercises are carried out accordingly.
To ensure PMS exercise are carried out accordingly.
Prepare and compile document for moderation of PMS proses result for bonus and increment purposes.
To ensure publishing of advertisement of vacancies or promotional purposes in relevant job sites.
To prepare and ensure the contribution to the statutory bodies are carried out accordingly.
To pepare/ensure Payroll system are carried out monthly, accuracy of data, up-to-date and perform rectification if necessary.
To assist in performing investigation on any disciplinary issues, employee dispute and any employee/industrial relation arising issues.
To ensure Employee’s Insurance are carried out monthly on employees’ resignation and new hires, accuracy of data, up-to-date and perform rectification if necessary.
To assist Management in providing data, compiling, analyzing and proposing in employee compensation and benefits.
To ensure all training are carried out according to the training plan.
Prepare and manage expatriates and foreign workers related matters
Hostel & Staff Cafeteria’s management
To prepare and submit monthly reports

Requirements :

Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Human Resource Management or equivalent.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, proficiency in both writing & speaking English
At least 5 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Required Skill(s): Reward & Payroll Management, Recruitment, Industrial Relations, Staff Welfare including Hostel Management, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Expat & Foreign Workers Management is a MUST
Preferably Manager specialized in Human Resources or equivalent.
